In keeping with our mission to build intergenerational LGBTQ+ community, foster friendships across generations and combat social isolation among our elders, we are inviting LGBTQ+ folks of all ages and backgrounds to join us EVERY THIRD THURSDAY of each month for these fun, social bridger events. Through short, accessible creative writing prompts, we'll offer our diverse perspectives, discuss our unique and shared experiences, and stay connected!

Eccoci Qui (Here We Are): LGBTQ+ Stories from Italian America
A virtual storytelling show on the holiday formerly known as Columbus Day, sharing real stories from real LGBTQ+ Italian-Americans!
Columbus Day was chosen to represent us, but is far from how LGBTQ+ members of the Italian American community see themselves. In this special TGP storytelling workshop and event, 6 LGBTQ+ Italian Americans will share their stories of coming to terms with their identities as LGBTQ+ people of the Italian diaspora.

Help Us Build the First Comprehensive LGBTQ+ History Exhibit in Provincetown
THE GENERATIONS PROJECT is teaming up with the PILGRIM MONUMENT AND PROVINCETOWN MUSEUM to exhibit a 2-part LGBTQ+ historical anthology of Provincetown over the past century.
We are building an LGBT anecdotal history of Ptown as well as a short documentary series that will together create a vibrant portrait of Provincetown's LGBTQ+ history through first-hand account.

"First Times" Storytelling Workshop with The LOFT
Beginning in June, TGP in collaboration with The LOFT will be facilitating an online virtual "First Times" storytelling workshop. We invite all perspectives on the theme to include stories about first experiences, new beginnings, rites of passage, etc. Stories will be shared aloud in front of friends and family at a Final Story Share!

Odd Fridays Creative Writing Workshops!
Every Odd Friday (1st, 3rd, 5th Fridays) of each month, from 5-7pm EST, we will be facilitating online creative writing workshops via Zoom! Participants of all ages and backgrounds will come together from around the world to discuss current events, explore various themes and topics and be guided through several unique, short creative writing prompts. There will be opportunities to share in small groups of 3 and with the larger group, and periodically entire sessions will be dedicated to an open-mic style opportunity for sharing. No writing experience is necessary. These are fun, easy exercises to get your creative juices flowing, inspire and motivate you and help you share your voice so we can all stay connected.

The Stonewall 50 Time Capsule "Quarantine" Writing Workshop
The Generations Project welcomes Stonewall 50 Consortium members and other LGBTQ+ voices to join a special 1 Day Writing Workshop on Sunday, May 17th, from noon-2:00PM.
This will be an opportunity to reflect on and share our thoughts, emotions and experiences of quarantine and Covid-19, within a supportive, inclusive group environment. Facilitators will guide participants through various brainstorms, prompts and discussion topics, in small and large groups, culminating in a short piece of writing-- a personal journal entry, a letter to the future, a summary of daily life in quarantine, etc. to be included in the Time Capsule as testament to this unique moment in history.
Participants will be invited to share their created content with others in June and beyond until the Stonewall 50 Time Capsule is sealed and closed at the New York Historical Society. Our time capsule was scheduled to close June 30th, 2020, but the closing is being postponed until museums in NYC reopen.

"Hopeful Journeys" Storytelling Workshop
In this 4-week intergenerational workshop, participants will be guided to create a 5-10 minute story revolving around the theme of Hope; removing stigma and finding a light in darkness. Participants will craft unique stories about their own experiences with HIV/AIDS (storytellers will present in front of friends and family during a private online final story share after the workshop ends).
Select storytellers may be invited to share their story at our upcoming sunset story hour series at the AIDS Memorial!

"Dads" Storytelling Workshop
In this 4-week intergenerational workshop, participants will be guided to create a 5-7 minute story revolving around the theme of DADS. We invite all perspectives on the theme to include stories about being a dad, having a dad, not having a dad, fatherhood, family, gay parenting and adoption.
*Select storytellers may be invited to share their story at our upcoming DADS Storytelling Show, (either streamed online or potentially hosted at the Eagle).
